The difficulty of becoming a "WRITER"

To be able to write, and write in a manner that whoever (or majority of the "whoever") reads your writings, complements you on the style and substance, and graduating to a stage where you become a "WRITER" in the accepted definition of that word, are two totally different things......

Till about some time back, I proudly harbored desires of becoming a WRITER, the rarefied (is it really rarefied, dont we see lots of cheapdump writings and their creators) space of the so-called intellectuals who are doubly blessed with the ability to think well and more so, the ability to pen it down. But the more I age, the more I become convinced that I will probably never become one.

My wife has other ideas though. She loves all my rants (musings, as I call my blog) and has even gone to the length of getting a personalized spiral bound book printed with our family photos on the cover. She urges me to write in it. I like the book, especially the photo of me and my wife which occupies much of the cover. God I love her. But do I have the courage to start becoming a WRITER now? God only knows.

Writing is a noble hobby but the WRITER profession is none that easy. It sucks every ounce of the person's resolve and very few cross and land on the other side. I, no matter, how hard I try, am falling short of making the first move.

Dont know where I go with this writing thing.
